I created a new group last night and when my friend did a search for it so they could join, but its not showing up in the search. Does it take so long before it is listed? (and yes i made sure the box was checked to have it show on search)

I also tried to just send an invite, but she never recieved it.

Any help would be appreciated! Before my first 48 hours are up and I can't remake the group with the same name.

Every group I created, including very recently, the group showed up as soon as I hit enter. I'd try again to see if someone else can find it and if not then I'd submit a ticket. You could also create and alt and have it join, if possible.

Always have yourself and one of your own alts as the first two members in any group you create, even if the ONLY time that alt is ever logged ijn is to accept membership in the group. Saves you a world of headaches.

Once created, the group owner should send an invitationto the initial members, rather than having them locate the group in search. This is much faster, and you can determine which role they intially join as (Everyone, Officer, or some other single role, in addition to Everyone group).

I think I have read somewhere that it may take a day or so for a new group to show up in Search.

However, with every Group I have created, I was able to manipulate the Group and invite people immediately. So if you cannot, then you may have a problem and should do a support ticket.

And- though I can't remember where I read it- but I am fairly certain that I have read that even after a Group is disbanded, the name can never be re-used. So don't wait for that to happen.

I found it. I read it here:

Ad remember to make the group open enrollment if you just want people to join on their own. Also you may not have checked the 'show in search' box of your group. Also if you labeled it as mature and you only search PG your not going to be able to find it.

I did state in my OP that the show in search box was checked. At first it was marked mature then realized it might be harder for people to find so I unchecked mature. I did try to send an invite to an alt...nothing when I logged in...guess ill open a ticket.

Thanks
