Hi all. I don't know if this is the right place but "support" in m opinion is very very confusing. Right I bought this overrider from Jo Melnik....twice....because i thought I did something wrong the first time. This cost me 4000 lindens and .....pooof nothing. When I tried to IM the person Jo Melnik...no answer..... and lo and behold I look this person up and it says no longer works for SL becasue he/she were hacked.

A) why are the products still offered?

B) how do i get my money back if I can't get the over rider?

Thanks

Hi Toapz,

I realise you are frustrated, but i'd edit the persons name out of your post before your forum membership goes "pooof" too... it's against the rules.

You can try contact him via email. His address is in his profile's Classifieds listings.

The seller in question should not have the item out for sale anymore if they know it does not work. They should refund your money and IMMEDIATELY remove the item from sale.

Topaz:

First, forgive me but I have to ask the obvious question: was there an instruction notecard with the overrider, and are you sure you are using it correctly?

Second: You should try dropping a notecard on the creator, not just an IM. Sometimes IMs get capped and he or she may not even know you are trying to get through. A notecard is a safer bet.

Third: Give it a couple of days. Sometimes even content creators have real lives that make it hard for them to get into SL and deal with SL problems instantly. And with the problems SL has been having lately, the creator might have a backlog of issues to clear.

Fourth: If the creator doesn't respond to you, I am afraid there is a very low probability of getting your money back. LL doesn't get involved in resident-to-resident disputes and you may just have to write off the loss as a learning experience. Every once in a while people come in here with stories of LL refunding them when a creator is non-responsive, but it seems like a very rare occurrence (if it happens at all).

Finally, as was suggested above, you might want to edit the creator's name out of the original post. The official forums have a policy against naming names and with the stealth moderation going on around here I'd hate to see your post disappear without your question getting answered to your satisfaction.

There is a "delivery and upgrade" link on that seller's web site with more of the same story, but this line at the bottom kind of says you are out of luck:

"And for people who did not recieve a produdt, Ask LINDEN LAB if they refund something..."

Well, thanks for the expensive warning :(
