I was retexturing my bed and decided I was totally tired of how it doesn't look all that real.

So I want to find a realistic sculpty bed.


I entry furniture, scultpy, sculpted

and the front page is almost entirely the SAME ads.

In fact the top ad is a place that seems to be blatantly pushing rip-off skins with every keyword known to Avatar.

A lot of the others arent much better.

do we need a lot more catagories in the classified or something? they are becoming hard to navigate



Ohh and does anyone know a really good sculpty furniture store?

at the risk of blatantly plugging my partner and i dont know if its allowed ? he makes 1 prim sculpty beds,with or without animations. Player Dagostino is his name, he is currently updating all his stock as his sculpting skills have improved-they rock

If you're using the new search you can exclude keywords by prefixing them with '-' to clean up your search results some.

So if you were searching for "bed" for instance, using "bed -sex" would get rid of a lot of the noise already.

To get all the different variations of sculpty/sculptie/sculpted you'd need to use OR as well instead of just separating them by spaces.

So: furniture bed -sex sculpty OR sculptie OR sculpted

OMG I ran into this frustration too. I finally gave up and used some sculpted pillows I had purchased that were mod/copy and made a fluffy bed myself. Only time I ever stopped shopping when I wanted something! Why is it classifieds pick up every word, but events dont? Makes searching through those a pain too.

I agree, the new system stinks even worse than the old system.

Try entering "Freebies" and see what you get. Is The Free Dove there? Not on the first page, that's for sure.

Try entering "Free Dove", under the Shopping category. Still nothing...only one listing, and that one's not the Dove.

Try entering "The Free Dove" under the ALL category. Finally! There it is.

Apparently, Search is only useful if you already know exactly what you're Searching for. Way to go, Linden Research.

"Broken" is too mild a way to describe it. This Search feature isn't broken, it's actively out to frustrate anyone who tries to use it. It's diabolical, that's what it is.

Well, this is Search, not Classifieds. But they're broken, too.

Half the time I can't even find things I know are there! What a nightmare the system must be for newbies. It's terrible trying to run and promote a business. If Google does create a world, I will be first in line.

My peronsal opinion is that the way the search is, and isnt, can be a huge factor in keeping or losing new residents. Not the only reason, mind you....but I saw a lot of people at a welcome area trying to figure out WHAT there was to do in SL. If the most popular places or the top search results are where they are visiting, its no wonder there were other residents there yelling about how horrible SL was and for people to just quit now. These 'features' need to be fixed and I have a feeling, if they were, we would see a lot more growth in the amount of residents again.

Absolutely spot on, Dinalya. This new Search is SO bad. LL should go back to the old search AT ONCE as a band-aid. They cannot take as long to fix this one as they did to "fix" the previous one, or SL will be terribly damaged.

the old search option is still there

just use that tab

this search is STILL beta, so complaining about it is kinda moot

just report the bugs and use the old search

educate any newbies you see that are frustrated with search that they can use the old style and that this new one is still in beta

Just to be clear, when I say search I mean all of the old ones, cept maybe groups n people. Search as in places, popular places, classifieds and events. All the old ones. I tried the new one a few times and was just as annoyed as in classifieds.
