Keep having to download SL each time??

hello

since i have downloaded the new version some months ago.
If i try to go into SL straight away it comes up with the crash report..
each time i want to log on i have to download the whole thing again.


can anybody help me with this, its driving me mad

I wonder if something in your settings is preventing you from getting in.

Try throwing away the entire SL folder that's in Application Data. It's a hidden folder. If that works it narrows it down a bit.

It's in different places for different operating systems:
For Windows XP:
c:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\SecondLife\

For Windows Vista/7:
c:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\

What viewer are you using?

It could be something in your cache that corrupted, maybe - that keeps getting downloaded. I assume you've cleared cache.

I'm just throwing out some ideas - but more knowledgeable people may be along soon ;-D

Have you tried logging in and detaching everything, then once you get back in again after that seeing if the NEXT log-in works (going from a successful login to another try)?

uninstall SL
delete the shortcut off your desktop
delete any shortcuts from the start menu
delete the folder (as above)
look under both "Program Files" and "Program Files(x86)" if you have a 64 bit version of Windows and delete any Second life folders

Download and install Second Life one final time. That should be it.
