A faster way to process credit?

Hi all,

I requested a process credit via LL on 28th - still not done even though today is "working day 5" - although concierge is looking into it (after much convincing to look into it).

Considering it's instant to pay into SL, i'm a little dissapointed it takes "0-5 days" (ie, at least 5 days in this, my first experience).

Can anyone recommend a RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY way to process credit from SL to Paypal?

I was thinking of Xstreet, as I heard cood things about their exchange, but not sure not LL have broken it...

Thanks

Gomez

XStreet is way faster, though first time use also takes a few days. After that, I read that its a matter of seconds/minutes. For as long as LL let's it be
Mostly I use LL, as I could not care less if it takes a few days longer, but if you want speed, try XStreet.

Although slightly more complicated to use, as it sits now XStreet is almost instant to process credit to paypal. I've never had it take more than 5 minutes. Not sure how much longer that will last now that they are owned by LL.

You can also do it through http://www.anshex.com which is still instant I think. I think they require a minimum of L$50000 to sell though.

I've never had a credit process take less than 5 days, and in some cases two weeks though the main SL site. I'm guessing it's because they verify all transactions by hand and are always short-staffed.

Not too bothered about the speed, more reliability - if i'm told it will be 0-5 days, i expect it to be 0-5 days.

Thanks for that :)

I've just send a "test" amount through them to see how long they take in comparison - i'll let you know!

BTW - update form Concierge:

From: someone
XXXXX Linden: Hi there, talked to billing. With the outage yesterday and the main person being on vacation for a couple weeks they are very behind. It could be a few more days for the process credit, they are well over the 5 day mark

So, they are on holiday for a couple of weeks... nice.

And now from http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2009/08/04/post712/

From: someone
US$ Payout Delays
We are currently experiencing a processing issue causing the delay of US$ payouts to residents. Due to the backlog, payout turnaround is five to ten days, rather than the usual five. The situation will return to normal as soon as possible.

That's alright then is it? One person at LL goes on holiday and we all have to wait...

What sucks is that paypal is the only option and not direct bank account deposits.

Uh, and Paypal billed me $850 usd - TWICE - back in June.

So, when given the choice between paypal and LL, i will choose LL who in their history with me has not stolen money from me.

Oh and now they are calling my house daily, and already snatched up $150 bucks i had coming to me from Ebay.

Paypal is a toss pot.

I've gone both ways... even on a good week LL takes 3-5 days to process credit to paypal, Xstreet took 24 hours the first time... 3-5 minutes now, even when it seems to be peak hours. Always trade with Xstreet :)

Xstreet definately is the faster option. I like to have as much clarity as possible with how much
money I have available to me. In addition it just bugs me when my money has to hang in some
limbo for extended periods of time. Which makes fast good.

The thing to do is get one of those Paypal debit cards. I think when I applied I got mine in less than a week. Then you just transfer money from xstreet to your paypal account and it is then
immediately available on your Paypal debit card.

There is a little extra strategy that comes up withdrawing the money to cash as my bank charges 3$ for handling it through their atm. Instead there is a credit union nearby that has an
atm that does not charge withdrawal fees. Alternatively another no fee option is to go to a supermarket that lets you take cash back. I'll go in and buy a bottled water and take out 150$
at a time and nobody seems to mind.

The paypal debit card is ok.

Just whatever you do - don't select back up funding and then link your bank account to it.

Heh, you expect *anything* done by Linden Labs to work like they say it should? My experience over 2.5 years and many process credits is it has taken anywhere from 0 to 8 business days to reach paypal, though it has always gotten there eventually.

(yes, they are much better at taking money *from* you, but even then they make mistakes)
