Hi again

I've decorated my new home in SL and I want to keep count of prims of course. Other than counting the prims of the individual objects is there a shortcut that will tell me how many prims are in a room for example? I hope you know what I mean. :)

Thanks very much.

Click world at the top of the screen, click "About Land" click the objects tab, click "Refresh list" to get the names of the object owners.

Select all objects in edit mode (hold shift to add more objects to your selection), somewhere on the first tab the total prim count of all objects selected should be listed. It'll say something like:
Objects: X
Prims: Y

Make sure to set your prefs to select only your own objects ... then as was said, click to edit an object of yours, cam out to a wide view, shift and click/drag a box around the whole area ... *BAM* ... all your prims selected. Look at the prim count on the object tab.

That's how I ensure I'm not encroaching upon my prim limits.

sometimes that method will faill to select prims that are behind another. Use your camera to orbit around all the pims, zoom if necessary to see if any prims are not highlighted..........include those with the shift click method.

I think there is a script at the Free Script Library, drop it into a prim and touch it, will tell you how many prims you have on the parcel..

Hi Simon,

Picked up the prim calculator, placed it in an object, selected the object, (touch option was not active.} and there was a blue and red effect from the object and nothing more.

Can you please tell me what is supposed to happen?

Thanks again.

Figured it out, well someone else did. I needed to assign the items in my home to the group I'm renting from, otherwise my stuff would continue to disappear.

I didn't think I was over my prim limit yet!

You can also go to the Tools Menu and chose select my only my objects, 2nd option I think. then go back and chose select tool, 1st option I think, then edit. Place you cursor in the upper left of you screen, holding down the left mouse button, drag down and to the right. You will be drawing a box. Make sure the box is big enough to capture all your objects. Zoom your cam out. let go of mouse button and the edit properties bos and you will see a total prim count for everything you selected. A much faster way than holding down the shit and trying to click on every object. When done remember to go back and remove the x by select only me objects.
