I bought a tree with a swing & animation on: Date: 2008-10-20 21:52:43 Object Sale Description: swing on tree with ani Region: Vision of cliffs 4 Destination: ****************** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When I got it home, I rezzed it and it was only the tree without the swing & animation. I IM the seller twice, no response ... This is not RL, my avatar can't walk up to the store and demand to talk to a manager. Do you have any suggestion what else can I do? I love the tree, but I want the swing that comes with it too. Plz help!

Send the seller/creator a notecard. Be sure you:
1. Be brief (but it never hurts to start with a sentence saying what a lovely item it is).
1. Include in the text a copy of your Transaction History showing you bought it (from the My Account portion of this website)
2. SIGN IT with your full SL name, so they know who to respond to.
3. Wait for a few days. Be patient.
If you never receive a notification that the seller picked up your notecard, the seller probably doesn't log in much anymore, and you are out of luck. Most sellers respond better to notecards than IMs, which often get capped/lost.
Good luck!

Good luck! Give your notecard a title such as " I love your work" rather than "give me my money back you theiving fekker". Also, just because a notecard is never 'recieved' in world doesn't mean the recipient doesnt log on. There is a trick to ignoring a notecard and removing it from your screen without having to 'accept' or 'reject' it. EDIT: not that i ever ignore notecards from my customers of course...just to be clear on that

I advice editing your post to remove it or star it out like I did. Naming names in the forum is not allowed - at least not when it is in a possibly negative way.

I would second (third...whatever we're up to now) the notecard suggestion. However, I would suggest putting some reference to needing assistance with a purchase in your title. If I'm not logging in as often due to RL, I'm much more likely to login as soon as possible if I see an email that I have a notecard waiting from someone that needs help with one of my products over something that might be a mall solicitation or something that seems less urgent from the title.

Did you check the tree Contents tab? I've had items delivered with one piece inside the other in the past, although there's usually a notecard included to explain that fact.

Good point -- I have had items where the 'container' was made to look much like the final piece. I actually had picked up an item that was supposed to be a Halloween tree in 4 sizes. When I rezzed the container, I had a tree -- took me a few minutes to realize that the other sizes were all inside that one.

I'd first check if their profile says how is best to contact them. For me, notecards are not as good as IMs, since I get IMs in my email and most notecards are spam. When I had a product not delivered from a VERY popular creator, IMing and notecards weren't doing the trick, so I used an online indicator and contacted her a few minutes after she came online one day, so had cleared out her messages. Also although WE rarely log off, some people only log on during the weekends, or if using alts, only rarely, so just like that RL store you would storm in to only to find the manager is on vacation for another week? But transaction histories go away after 30 days, so you'll want to get in contact somehow before then preferably! Good luck!

That is a great suggestion, especially because the item has a swing. Depending on the script they use, it may not be possible to link the swing and the tree, so the swing could be stashed somewhere else. **edit. I just went out to the store and found the tree and swing (very pretty). It looks like it comes in a rez box? If that is the case, have you tried using the rez box to rez another copy?

The same has been happening to me since the update. (ETA: in a variety of products)
Later I tried opening the same box again and waited longer and this time all the pieces came out.
Sometimes I had to go to another parcel.
It might not be a faulty product but just slow rezzing. Wait a good long minute or two before taking up the box.
You can find the maker's name if you choose properties on any of the items. Send them a note card. Also go into your transaction history and get the transaction # to include when you write them.

You mean stroke their over-inflated egos just to get them to do what they should of done from the start, no? There's no need to go out of your way to do all that. You just write them a card explaining what the problem is. Doing this should suffice but unfortunately in sl you're more apt to get beat then to get what you paid for.
