I have made a group and bought land - 1024 sqm. I have then allocated the land to the group.

Does this automatically give the group members the right to make things in the land? I would appreciate knowing how to do this. The group members (my students) have been tasked to make a working laboratory.

You can check the current permissions by right clicking on the plot, selecting 'About Land' from the pie menu and selecting the 'Options' tab. It will show there what group members are allowed to do.

Also, make sure you have at least two people in your new group to ensure it isn't dissolved.

and the group roles also play a part in this

you can specify via roles who can and can not build and do other things to the land

Any more tips are welcome.

Right click on your self and chose groups and Open the group in your groups list that you have deeded to the land. You will see several tabs at the top. Click on the Members and Rolls tab. Then click on the rolls tab within that window.. In there you can add your own groups of rolls with different permissions. If you click on the roll EVERYONE you will see the permissions appear in the box on right side of window called (Allowed Abilities) have fun!

ps depending on the type of group you have you may want to disable PAY GROUP LIABILITIES. Because if you sell the land then everyone in the group will get the money divided between them all. If everyone does not have a financial stake in the land then you don't want them to get the moneys
