Hello,
In the few short weeks I've been in SL I have accumulated quite a lot of friends in my 'contacts' list. Some of them I speak to often, others I have lost track of. Is there a way of listing contacts by their last contact date rather than by name ?
Is there a way of organising them into sub-folders ?
(I know I can add comments to the last tab of their profiles)

You could create folders and drop their calling cards into the folders, but the contact list itself is unorganizable, as far as I can tell.
All I do is periodically remove those that I haven't spoken to in a looong time. _____________________

No, there's no way of organizing your FL. As you mentioned you can add comments and notices to the last tab of each profile, but there is no way to categorize friends on your list.
I self wondered why this isn't already integrated.. I mean to create own sub folders e.g. like "Close friends", "Business partners", "Normal friends" or "Bitches" *lmao Maybe there is an extra tool which I dont know of whith which you can do so...but we will see what others will post here. _____________________

As was suggested above, create folders in your inventory/calling cards section.
One additional suggestion is to open another inventory window and use it as a substitute for the friends list |

Ironically, I just went through a clearing out of my friend's list this morning. Decided people with whom I haven't interacted with in months nor have any business dealings with don't need to be there.
I would love some type of organization via radio buttons or categories, etc. on the Friend's list to differentiate between real friends, business associates and acquaintances. _____________________

Torley Olmstead just got done quizzing us in Twitter on the whole calling card/FL thing. He agrees that the cards need to go, and the FL needs to be updated and be made more utilitarian.
I'd like to see more than one list, personally. One for friends, one for business contacts ... one for people who owe me money ... one labeled 'black book' ... _____________________

And don't forget the 'Beatch' category someone mentioned earlier -- for those that should never ever get into the Black Book category Hmm ... Im not sure I have anyone for that folder, really. Maybe one or two. Not enough to justtify their own list.  _____________________
