Operating Rezz boxes without instructions

I could probably figure this out, but your experience could save me some anguish.

Suppose you bought a building in one of those rez boxes but no note card or instructions came with it. You place the box on your land, touch it and it has a pop up menu with three buttons, Rezz, Mem, and Ignore.

What would your next moves be?

Also supposing you bought this item on SLX and it is shown with Copy / Mod permissions. This is vital becasue you need to retexture a small part of the prefab. However the rezz box when in inventory shows No Copy, No Mod. Is this normal for rez boxes or does this mean the item inside is no copy, no mod?

Thanks for your help.

Rezz will rezz the item, ignore will remove the menu - I cannot remember what mem does (and it might even be different for different types of rezz boxes).

I would rezz the building.

The overall item could be showing No Copy, No Mod because of scripts inside it -- light door scripts or window tinting scripts -- but the rest of it may be copy & mod.

That's what I thought. I'm still worried about the Mem button though. Either it sets the building in place, or it has something to do with setting up the item in the rezz box.

Well, it wasn't too expensive. And I'm a guy -- we don't read instructions anyway, so here goes . . .

Thanks, Lil.

mem is most likely to memorize where its at after you move the rezz box to place the house in the final position before deleting the rezzer box

From my experience with the free rezzer 'mem' would be the option to memorize the building's layout in reference to the rezz box. So the only person to use it would be the original builder. He would put the rezz box next to his building, hit MEM, take all the building parts into his inventory and then stuff them into the rezz box. You as the customer would put the rezz box on the ground and hit the REZZ button and out pops the building. It's hard to tell what is no mod and no copy. Probably the scripts to run the rezzer.

IMO, yes it is normal for the rezz box to show as No Mod/No Copy in inventory and in some case No Mod/No Copy/No Transfer as I have set for my free demo models that people can test before purchase.

Remember the rezz box is a package that packages the items to rezz the build. It is the items in the rezz box that have the Mod/Copy permissions.

You might also contact the seller - they may have accidently left the instructions out of the box, of course.

Most reputable sellers include simple instructions so that buyers don't have to worry like this. If this seller doesn't then your asking them might get them to do so from now on- making life easier for future customers :-)

Update: As it happened, the items in the box are mod / copy. And the Mem button is for the builder as Bree suggested. The customer only uses the Rezz. It was far simpler than I was making it, but one wants to be sure. Thanks all.
