Is the money put back on to your credit card? Does it happen immediately?

I've been in SL for about 6 months and had a premium membership for a least 5 of those months with a verified form of payment.

you cash out and it puts a $us balance on your account you then have to process it and tell them how you want it given back to you
paypal and checks are 2 of the methods

Nope, it goes in your SL account as US dollars. If you want it in your hands you'll need to request a transfer to Paypal, or to have a check sent to you.

One nice thing about having a US dollar balance in your SL account, any premium membership fees or tier will be taken from there first before charging your credit card.

Been hearing some horror stories recently about cashing out through Paypal, and how it's not work well. Are those horror stories, or is that typical? I have some US$ I would like to trade out, but don't want to do it if it's problematical.

It can just take a little while for the PayPal account to be credited, because there's a verification step involved that's still done manually.

Also, if you cash out a LOT of money suddenly, PayPal may get suspicious. PayPal can generally be dangerous for holding money because - at least in the US (it may be different elsewhere) - it isn't legally considered a bank and isn't held to any banking regulations, and the main priority with PayPal is to keep buyers (not sellers!) safe.

Yumi, thanks very much for your answer - that's a big help. I was planning on using it to buy some Christmas Presents for RL people, and they place I want to use uses PayPal, so it'll be perfect.

For several previous months my withdrawals to paypal were taking only 1 or 2 days to be processed by LL. My last one took 5 days. I did read some reports of it taking several weeks, but I think that is unusual.

It used to take a really long time (sometimes 12 days!) but for the past few months, it's been nearly instantaneous. Recently, though, like for the past two weeks, it's been back to around 5 days (argh.)

I sell on slexchange and the transfer of funds to paypal is very fast (almost instant) only had to wait once, for some reason they had to verify it *shrug*
