Best Shoot'em up game on SL?

So I will admit that I'm a gamer.

I have been playing C:SI (Combat: Samurai island) since about June 2007. Its a sword game where two SL opponents face each other in a rink. There is a HUD that measures health and stamina and when your health zero, your avatar animates into a dead postion for 10 - 15 sec. After that, you decide if you both would like to try it again, or find a different opponent to fight or just move on. No one is attacked without warning!!

So I'm ready to move on into a more shooting style game and since I don't own a SL gun (I do have a lot of differenet C:SI swords), I would like to know what is the Best Shoot'em up game and what type of weapon will I have to buy in order to enjoy it?

The I am Legend thing is neat, but very laggy. Because of this the vamp faction has a huge advantage.

I AM LEGEND is well worth a look .. its great fun ...

i'm not sure the vamps do have an advantage... if you're goed enough .. jump out of the way! ....and for some reason there are far more 'uninfected' humans/dogs than infected .... for the last few nights its been like 10 to 1 against the infected!

...still we like it that way .... its like an 'all you can eat buffet' waiting outside.... lol

Have they fixed the guns in that thing yet? I've been deaded 15 times so far and I'm pretty sure I've been on target a reasonable amount of the time, all to no avail... well, the Dead icon's pretty neat! lol

Are you using the pistol? From what I've read, it's meant to be a weak weapon...stronger ones are hidden around the sims.

from what I can see, the problem is that the thing you are aiming at is out of sensor range by the time you pull the "trigger". This gives the advantage to melee, and from what I have heard many consider jumping to be a cheat. As for the better guns, you burn through the ammo very fast due to lag as well.

The need some melee weapons for humans; a baseball bat or a fire axe would be nice :)

You should check out *Pure Combat* by Kyla Stonecutter. She's a respected builder, and her sim is a well-moderated, RP free combat sim. I really think you'll enjoy it. I know I do.

Yes I have them Ann... I particularly like the shotgun hehe.... and I'm guessing the sniper rifle is in the as yet unopened (as of last time of being there) sim - have you found the easter eggs? I've found two so far....

I've been playing IA Legend and have found the Zombies to be at a severe disadvantage:
1. We have no weapons, only melee attacks so you need to be very accurate to get your target
2. We can't get over the sidewalks without jumping and the lag is staggering so it's even harder
3. We're totally outnumbered every time. There are loads more good guys - altho being the bad guy is more fun I think
4. Our home sim is inconveniently placed. The unifecteds have China Town and Central Park (unless you manange to turn the generator off). So to find a revival point takes a long time.
5. Our home sim (coney island) also doesn't have voice on (while the others do) so you can't communicte properly since typing whilst trying to do everything else is very hard.

I hope they can help alleviate some lag though I know that's hard to do...although I have to say, it's beautifully designed. Totally immersive experience.

I love the game but at some point, you just give up because the lag just chokes you.

for some reason a Zombie complaining about their lot in Unlife makes me LOL.

I disagree that zombies are at a disadvantage for the following reasons:

1) zombies can get health by grabbing bodybags, humans have to hope they get a medkit or the parts to make one (which almost never happens)

2) the sensors they use in the script seem to work better at very close range, so melee is slightly more accurate, though I do agree that lag is bad for everyone.

3) ammo for anything is very rare, so most people get stuck with the BB gun. when you do get ammo a lot is wasted due to lag.

4) zombies have lots of health even by day. Me and three other people were trying to kill a vamp. I personally sued 4 clips of USP and at least three mp5 clips trying to kill one vamp dog, not sure how much ammo or how accurate the others were but it killed all three of us at least twice.

5) parts for any light bulb other than incandescent are very rare, and the incandescent bulb breaks before you even get to use it.

I have to contend that the Infected have a significant advantage, more so if you are a vamp dog. I think ESC did a good job on the build, but I do not think they paid enough attention to game balance.

When I've been there it's been like 5:1 uninfected humans to dark seekers. It's totally fun though. I sort of imagine what it might look like from their perspective with the crazy zombie AO we have goin on. The AVs they provided for the infecteds are fantastic.
