Open the person's profile. Open your inventory and locate the LM or notecard. Click and hold on it. Drag it to the part of the person's profile that says "Drop inventory item here"

I need to go to someone's profile inworld and send my LM. What is an LM and how do I sent it? (I could not find LM in any search). What is the procedure for sending someone a notecard? An LM is a landmark, which is a sort of card that allows you to teleport to the location specified. Your landmarks are stored in a separate folder in your inventory, entitled (unsurprisingly) "Landmarks." You can be given landmarks by others, or automatically through scripted objects, or you can create your own for wherever you happen to be by going to "World" and choosing the "Create Landmark here" (or something similar) option. An LM will open on your screen. Just close it; it will appear in your inventory. To send a landmark, open the profile of the person in question, and drag and drop the landmark you want to send on to the little empty rectangle at that bottom of the profile entitled . . . um . . . what the hell IS it titled? Something like "Drop Inventory Items here" . . . ![]() _____________________

You'll want to search for you landmark by name. Usually, if you create one or get handed one, it goes in your landmark folder in your inventory. For passing it on, you can do as Dune suggests.
Landmarks have the icon of a little red pushpin. _____________________

LM = Landmark.
You create a landmark by the menu World > Create Landmark Here. To give something to another person, open their profile and drag-and-drop the object from your inventory onto their profile. One way to open a profile is through Search (People). You can not trade calling cards or No Transfer items. Hope that covers it. |

Further, any item in your inventory can be dragged and dropped this way, provided it has the permissions. All landmarks and notecards should have transfer permissions, otherwise they're pointless, really.
As Scylla said, search your inventory for 'landmark" or 'notecards'. Open your friend's profile, then click, drag, drop. |

just to add to this hehe
Ways to directly give someone something from your inventory you can drag and drop onto the person's avatar if you are next to them in world you can drag and drop anywhere on the profile window (you do not need to "aim" for the little slot) Also if you are in an im chat with them, some clients allow you to drag and drop to the im window (don't think it lets you drag folders that way though) oh and you can drag entire folders (as long as there are not too many items in it, forget what the max number is) to a person, or profile window of that person _____________________

Sorry Kurt! Forgot this stuff isn't necessarily covered.
Click Search and click the People tab, and type the person's name. You will find their Profile. On the first page of any profile is a slot toward the bottom of the profile. Drag anything there that you want to send to them. A LM is a landmark. When on a lot in SL, go to the World section in your upper toolbar of Second Life. From the drop down menu of "World," choose "Create Landmark Here." It will go to your Landmarks folder in your Inventory. Landmarks are the same idea as a computer bookmark. But instead of a web page you get a location in Second Life. To make a note card, open Inventory, and choose Create/New Note. Type what you want to say. Click save. To title it after you hit save and close the card: Title the note card by right clicking on its name (New Note) in Inventory, and choosing rename from the drop down menu when you click it. If you title the note card this way, then you can find it again later if you need to. Now just drag the note card and landmark to the person's profile, and that's all. Sounds like a lot but it's easier than it sounds. (If you are near someone's avatar you can do this by dragging things to them, or to their name above their head. Or by right clicking their avatar and choosing Profile. Then follow the Profile procedure from there.) _____________________

Ways to directly give someone something from your inventory you can drag and drop onto the person's avatar if you are next to them in world True, but I advise against it. It's too easy to miss and wind up either dropping the object in world or giving it to the wrong person. That's especially true at clubs where the avatar may be dancing (and thus not really where you think it is) or shielded by an invisible prim. Use one of the other suggested methods. you can drag and drop anywhere on the profile window (you do not need to "aim" for the little slot) An excellent point, especially given how many other posts here suggest that you do need to aim for that slot. Also if you are in an im chat with them, some clients allow you to drag and drop to the im window (don't think it lets you drag folders that way though) I wind up using this mechanism frequently, even when I'm not in IM with the other person, because double clicking on a name in my friends list opens up an IM window and not the profile. |

I'm such a nub I've only just learned you can also put a landmark INSIDE a note
You just create a new note, rename it to something that makes sense, and drop landmarks in it, with descriptions. A nice mermaid gave me a travel guide made this way, and recently I've used it to keep track of land and prices when I was shopping for my first little plot. |

You can embed landmarks in a notecard like this. You can also embed pictures and other notecards in exactly the same way. Just drag the LM, the picture, or the note from your inventory, and drop it onto the open notecard. When you get a notecard with these embedded items, you can view them directly by clicking on them, or if you want to save them for use separate from the note, drag them from the notecard into your inventory. _____________________

If I do need to do this, I aim for his/her Name/Group Tag. It moves around a lot less. Moving your camera closer helps, too.
