Hi,
I'm shopping for a car and need some hints. What I want is something smallish, a mini or likewise, or maybe a vw new beetle convertible. Main focus is more on actual driving than on "added features" but it should look more realistic than your average freebie car. And please, don't give me "my cars are the best" answers from vendors. oh, vendors that offer test drives are preferred.
thanks, Domi

How about a Scion? You can go to Scion City to get one. Is that still around?
Or a Pontiac Solstice. I got that and it's neat! Just go to the Pontiac sims.

If you are planning on driving round the Linden roads, my advice would be to get a SLOW car. The fast ones I have tried have been pretty much uncontrollable, although quite fun to hurtle around crashing into the water on the vehicle sandbox sim. Also, if you are in a fast car, nothing will rez in time for you to see it before you've gone past.
I think I have a VW Beetle convertible which, if I remember rightly, is fairly driveable. If the perms are OK, I'll send you a copy when I am next inworld.

I always liked the look of "Primouth" vehicles (and the punning name too). No idea how they drive though. They do a VW cabriolet, but the original Karmann one, not the new abomination erm, version.

I found a Japanese guy making Fiat 500's (and Vespa motorscooters). There is probably nothing smaller or cuter than a 500.
If I find/remember the name, I'll post it.

I fell in love in MH Motors yesterday ..... but I don't have a road, just lots of sea.
Lots of very nicely made cars there.

I should add that Pontiac transferred their 7 sims to United Spinal Association, and there are still a few Pontiac Solstice convertibles for sale on "Motorability" island.

I am a BIG MH Motors fan. The cars are very well scripted, and go quite fast - but for regular road driving, wear the HUD, put the car in Cruise mode, keep it in 1st or 2nd gear and you'll be slow enough to handle most roads. The Porsche is reeeeealy nice.

Pontiac closed? Well I don't really go back to a commercial sim after I've checked it out. But you say Solstice's are still sold there? I know there are other small convertibles like it by other SL makers too. I agree with getting a slow car. Whenever I've driven fast I hit both lag from my computer rendering things as I drive past them and I also hit boundary crossing more often. Maybe if we put speed bumps on the road just before a boundary that will make people slow down.

I have a Dominus Shadow R/C. It's definitely small. And it's an absolute blast to drive around in, especially in skate parks and such.

If you want something low prim and a 2 seater try the Camera GT by ZA Motors, keep it to 1st or 2nd gear and damp the steering to 80 or 90% and it drives just fine on Linden Roads. If you are looking for more seating, and still low prim and looks good check out the 1964 Coupe De Ville by Tumansky Heavy Industries. Pretty happy with both.
