I was wondering if someone could help me learn how to play movies in SL? I have been to a house where the person had a large screen playing a movie that just came out on DVD and want this setup in my house.
HELP!

Talk to CCTV Giant. I can help you with basic media, but he's got a system that I think somehow manages to do this specific task.

archive.org has some quicktime movies hosted freely and without any copyrights for testing.
Red vs Blue is a start.
