As we all know 'HTML on a prim' currently does not support Flash. Could this piece of news help change that?

http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9932688-7.html

If you don't feel like reading the article, the summary is as follows. Adobe announced today that they will be removing licensing restrictions on the SWF format, and they'll be publishing "a variety of APIs and protocols related to Flash". This is part of their "Open Screen" project, which is intended to help bring Flash to all manner of mobile devices. Could it also be what will finally make Flash work on prim surfaces in SL? I have no idea, but I'm betting that those who know a lot more about programming than I do might.

Thoughts?

My Thoughts?

OMFG!!! YES!! PLEASE LET IT BE SO!!!!

Video and/or Games on a Prim Surface!! That would SO increase the fun of SL. Most websites I go to on a daily basis use Flash for video & games, this would be such a boon to places like SL.

It makes sense. I'm not as in love with Adobe as I used to be - the past few years have seemed bumpy - but they make great products. I've never heard of MS Silverlight, have you?

I'm vaguely familiar with Silverlight, but I've never actually used it. Basically, it's Microsoft's attempt at a Flash killer. I don't think it has much chance of catching on very widely, but they've been pouring money into it for a while now.
