If you place a forum member on ignore, do the threads they start get ignored as well, or do you still see the thread?

You still see the thread. When you open it, you'll just see the person's name on the left, with text below it stating: "This message is hidden because [username] is on your ignore list". Only the text of their posts is hidden, not their threads or the fact that they have posted in any thread.

There is actually a "hack" for v-bulletin that allows you to ignore their threads too. But since LL can't even keep their software upgraded just by regular standards,that would be a stretch to hope for..
