want to hear from the noisy minority.
We just bought another sim. The ticket was issued on the fourth. (both sides) We just got it today. The seller (whom we don't know at all) now wants prorated tier. We have never had that be an issue in the past. We have not said no... or yes. What do you think?
Would rather not pay *laughs* obviously, Jake

You both should have spelled it out in the sales agreement.
Ethically - you should pro-rate the tier as it is the fair thing to do.

Shoulda had that in the terms of the sale. Ethics only comes in when someone comes back to you and tries to change the deal to squeeze you a little more.

I understand about not wanting to pay it, and you don't have to, but paying it would be the 'good' thing to do because you are getting the use of it. I would. Presumably it wasn't mentioned by either party, and it could be that the seller simply isn't experienced in selling sims and it didn't occur to him/her. I don't see it it as a matter of ethics at all.
On the other hand, if s/he is demanding it as a right, rather than nicely asking, I wouldn't agree to it because it would annoy me.

no
if he just payed tier while hoping to have it transferd right befor next tier is his/her problem
make sales agreements befor transfer, wich includes their remaining tier time in that period, if it takes longer, then you should have calculated that in
shit out of luck if it they`d have sold to me heh

I agree, the negotiated transfer price should take into account the tier payment made.
Legally or ethically you should not have to do anything more. Now, I would suggest you do what will let you sleep at night.

This really should have been included in the sale price. When is the tier due date? If it has passed during the transfer process then I can understand why the guy is asking for a tier contribution but if it was paid before the fourth then it should have been included in the sale.

Do the RIGHT thing as a person should, not as a technical oversight gives you the excuse to do.

A deal's a deal. If they're now looking to renegotiate that deal, ask them what more they're prepared to offer you for a change in the terms of the agreement. It's only fair.

Ok. *laughs*
It turns out that you all feel.. every single thing we feel about it... which is all ways.
"well, wait..that wasn't the deal" and *sigh* "well the last thing we wanna do is screw someone over" and "well just because I don't wanna screw someone over doesnt mean I wanna screw myself over" and "um... you maybe should have brought that up before" and.. "forget it.. I'm asking someone else"
Which does not help much. See you are supposed to all just know the answers.
Stupid if he does, Bad if he doesn't, Jake

Speaking of which is there a way to change tier dates? ( Threadjacking my own thread here) We have 3 other sims whose tiers are all like, 20-25th of the month. Would just be easier to keep track.
