Has anyone else had trouble with the camera in Appearance editing mode?

Mine seems to be stuck showing the back of my avatar. I can pan the camera around in SL but it doesn't do anything for the preview boxes while editing. Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this and how to fix it? It's not anything to do with my install because I just reinstalled windows and SL, plus it also doesn't seem to have this problem in my other account.

I'm guessing you have an AO or similar animation running.
Turn the animation/AO off and it ought to fix it.

I have random problems with that, too. Not running any AO's, either. One thing I've noticed is that when it happens, I can immediately exit out of Appearance mode, then enter it again and I usually turn around the right way. I jus thought I was shy at first.  |

I have found that when it does that to me (usually in the half turned position with one leg bent)
If I go out of edit appearance and directly back into it, it seems to straighten her out, sometimes takes a couple tries, but it does seem to work.

This is a very common problem, unfortunately. You can always use your camera controls (alt-arrow, ctrl-alt-arrow, ctrl-alt-shift-arrow) to turn your av around, but the previews in the edit box will still show your back. Sometimes if you leave appearance mode and then go back into it, you'll face the right way. I don't know if turning your av around before leaving appearance mode makes this fix more likely to work. i had this problem from day one jon, there is an option somewhere in preferences that stops the camera from moving around when you go into edit apperance mode, can't think what it is offf the top of my head but i'm sure you'll find it

Turn off your AO, and remove any clothing items or attachments that have built in poses.

Gah, this thing has been around for how many 'updates?' I swear, it's hard to tell what the idiotic sliders do when you can't see the face. It'd almost be better to have a default head in those little boxes! *chuckles* I'd say it'd be faster to just make a list of what does work reliably in SL

For me, the camera is the one thing in appearance/edit mode that DOES work properly! I always get flashing textures on the images in the slider boxes and on myself fo I can't see to adjust my clothes.

Appearance mode has never worked right once in all the time i've been in SL. It frustrates me to no end.
