Would think the Nvidia Graphic will be ok but is this series a little out of date?

I don't know anything about PCs I'm trying to find one that will run SL good. The PC we have doesn't run SL very well at all.
This one sounds really good. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9532749&type=product&id=1218120178969 |

The second one you linked will run SL well. The first, you would probably be a little disappointed in. However the second is $500 dollars more.......you can do better I think. Is there a reason you are stuck on Best Buy? Try searching Newegg.com or TigerDirect.com. You can also go to Dell, pick a base computer and "customize" it.........though you'll likely come up with a computer in the same price range (or higher) than the second one you linked.
If you really want to buy from Best Buy, go to one of their stores in person, pick a computer with most of the features/hardware you want and ask if you can upgrade it to include a discrete video card (preferably nVidia 9500 or better), 8 gigs DDR2 800 mhz or faster, and any power supply upgrade necessary for the higher performance graphics card (most off the shelf computers come with the very smallest PS that will work......a 9500 card requires 400 watts minimum). You might get a better machine than the second one for less money that way. |

I like Dell systems, but I would not buy one through Best Buy. Most models they sell cone with a 1-year Geek Squad warranty instead of the OEM warranty. Dell's in home service is far superior to the roulette wheel that is Geek Squad.
The specs are good on teh second system. On the first, I would avoid any 9000 series below 9500 for SL. |
