Where do I buy or apply for MOTD ads?

Today it was brought to several residents attention that LL is advertising resident owned islands on the login screen (MOTD). But I can't figure out where to apply or to buy them myself. Can someone point me in the right direction? There must be a link somewhere accessible to the public or at least to land owners I would imagine.

Sorry, that's only available to Linden Alts  More seriously, the obvious place to have informed people that space on the MOTD was available would be in the MOTD. That's the same as when billboards say "This space available". |

You mean people actually read that microprint noise? I always hit the login button and then flip back to read more in the forums until SL finishes the login process. Why waste time twiddling my thumbs when there's useful and/or interesting stuff to read elsewhere?

The first comment about Linden Alts was a joke (I hope), that a linden staff member who has an alt with an in-world business could more easily get their item posted on the message of the day, as of course, someone within the Lab sets up that message. The second comment was intended as you say, that to be fair to everyone, notice that the login space is available should have been posted on the login space itself. I don't know if they have ever done this in the past, I dont read the login message every time, but this is the first time I have noticed it myself as being other than an official event or a helpful hint. |

After chatting with a Linden I was told that there will be a blog post on it. So these questions will hopefully be answered when that happens. It would just be nice to have had some transparency *beforehand*.

It's open to everyone, just with a stiff prerequisite of owning 250 or more sims. In another current thread on the topic, LL is quoted as saying: From: someone " What you are seeing is the first stages of a new program we are rolling out as a test. We're piloting programs for our top landowners, beginning with estates greater than 250 full-prim regions. Should this test be successful, we will be extending the pilot to the next tier of landowners this Summer. Look forward to more details coming in July!" Time to start saving, I suppose.
