Hi there,
I want to be able to change the name of the landmark my land I own on a mainland SIM gives out... right now it puts my avatar name first before the rest of the description when I or anyone else adds my land to picks. I don't want my avatar name to be there. How do I solve this?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Open the land pane* then change the name you have given your land.
*Got to most easily by clicking the parcel name on the top of the UI.

Hi there... yes... I did that and when someone else goes add to picks it adds my avatar name to the landmark in front of the title I have on the land under the land tab.
So I guess my question is how do I modify out my name from the title when people add my land to their picks. Do you know how to remove the avatar name from the link at the bottom of the picks?

You can't, not for picks or classifieds. The pick/ad shows the name of the owner, the name of the parcel, the name of the sim and the coordinates. Nothing you can do about that.

Create a group with a suitable name. Maka an alt and have it join the group. That way you will always have at least two members in the group - si it won't get automatically disbanded. Deed the land to the group. That way the landmark will read as you want it. Modify the parcel name to suit, but remember that some might create their own landmark, which would have the parcel name as a tag.
Annnnnnd... be careful with autoretun. If that's non-zero, and of your stuff not set to the group will be poofed back to your Lost and Found. You have to set (no need to deed) everything to the group - and remember to wear the group tag when you rez stuff.

Okay thanks for the advice about the group... but I'm worried about deeding land to a group, even if I'm the group owner, because doesn't that mean if I or anyone else sells the land the proceeds get split evenly amount everyone in the group and not go back to me?

It's a meter of checking the powers for the roles in the group. Proceeds from a sale only go to those who are flagged to "Pay group liabilities and receive group dividends". You need to check that this is set only for the Owner role. The default for the Everyone role for a new group is to have that flag set on.
If you go down the group road, don't freak out you sell the land and don't see the cash immediately. It can take up to 24 hours for the cash to get distributed to whatever members get it - even if only the owners get it. Neither should you freak out if you look at the group info and see that the money will apparently be divided over all members. That's a bug. Only those flagged for payment will get the goodies.
