Can the shout animation be disabled?

Can the shout animation be disabled like the typing animation can? Thanks in advance!

Only for Tears For Fears fans or non fans, I think?

I don't know of a way to disable it, but it's probably possible to explicitly override it in a script, such that the animation is stopped as soon as it's started, so it would only appear for an instant if at all. I can't get in-world to test this now, however, and internal animations are tricky. (Stopping the typing animation by script, for example, has unexpected side effects.) And according to the documentation, shouting also starts the "express_laugh_emote" animation, so that would need to be stopped, too.

If you wear an ao with a priority 3 or 4 animation.

The shout anim is only a priority two, so if you aren't too worried about causing problems with other animations, perhaps ask your AO creator to provide you with stands that are priority 3?

(Usually stands are priority 2...)

OTOH, if the shout anim is interrupting a sit, the same thing applies, using a sit animation of priority three will prevent it from showing up and shouldn't bother too much other content...

Just don't ask for animations that are the "highest" priority or priority 4 as then other animations won't display for you properly.

This way of "solving" it should not have any glitches or a moment of the shout showing before a script detects and stops it...

(However if you have other priority 3 anims you want to use, you'd want to play them after your new stands/sit/whatever, and priority 2 anims won't show up while you are using the 3s depending on how they are made.)

PS: Editing to add (Bree replied afterward), you definitely do not want any AO that has priority 4 animations or you'll find other things won't work properly for you!
