To turn off the "Avatar Mist" that you see when an avatar isnt fully loaded:
1) The viewer must be in "Advanced" mode, to do this, pres & hold the CTRL key & then press the D key, you should see "Advanced" at the top where "File, Edit, View" is.
2) Click "Advanced" then click "Debug Settings".
3) Type the following in the area that is white on the "Debug Settings" window, "RenderUnloadedAvatar"
4) Click the drop down arrow and select "True"
5) Close the "Debug Settings" window and save your settings by logging out and logging back in.
Thats it.

I've done a test and it doesn't cause your own avatar to be seen any differently to other people. It only causes white clouds to be seen as avatars to you. So if there's a problem and you appear as a white cloud to other people, you will still appear as a white cloud to them, but you, and other white clouds, will appear as avatars to you.

Where the hell was this suggestion back when the cloud first appeared and we were trying to come up with a name? That is far better than 'casper' or any of the cutsie ghost or other cloud terms people came up with. i have always thought of it as a fart cloud...  i love it when i see one flitting around the place in little bursts .... i seriously think that sound effects might even improve it... _____________________

mentioning this a bit late....
this only affects your view so you can see the avatar instead of a "mist". sometimes due to a bad connection on the viewer to the sim, an avatar may have only half of their skinned textures loaded and continue to appear as a "mist" for a certain time. |
