What overhead menu selections will move my avatar to a named location; freebe beach for example?

That's what landmarks and the map are for...otherwise, you'll need to use Search.

Use the World menu to make landmarks while at a location.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

No overhead menu, but you may be looking for what MystiTool and some other HUD devices do. It has a teleport memory, so it works a little like a web browser with forward / back buttons. A menu comes up with names of parcels you've been to.

That's the closest I've seen to what you describe.

The full version of MystiTool also has a landmark storage.

I'm guessing that this enables a reply to your reply. I haven't changed anything since subscribing; even using my avatar name for this forum. I've used search, but can't figure out how to immediately jump to a place that search produces.

Thanks.

I've just subscribed and know almost nothing. I will do a knowledge base on MystiTool and HUD.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

1. Click the Search button at the bottom of the SL client.
2. Enter search terms in an appropriate tab (Places, Land, Classifieds, etc) and hit enter.
3. Highlight the results on the left side line by line to get more detailed info on the right.
4. When you find what you're looking for, click the Teleport button towards the bottom of the detail area.
5. Arrive (unless area is down or full).
6. Create landmark by going to the World menu and selecting 'Create Landmark Here.'
7. Close landmark.
8. Next time you want to visit, click the Map button at the bottom of the SL client.
9. Select your location from the drop down on the right side of the window and click Teleport.
10. Arrive.
