I assume I simply need to have the US dollars there waiting in my account, on the day they said they would bill them in that original email I got. But is there really no listing or account page where I can see this?

But is there really no listing or account page where I can see this? Depends on the owner. Did you go to a website to sign up for a tier subscription? I am assuming you did, since you mention an email confirmation. There might be an account area there. They should also send you a confirmation of payment on the day they take it from the account you used to set-up your subscription.

Wait, are you talking estate in that you're renting from another resident, or estate in that you bought an island from Linden Lab? In the previous case, you'd pay the resident directly. In the second case, yeah, just have the money in your LL account; it gets taken out automatically.

But is there really no listing or account page where I can see this? If you're referring to paying Linden Lab their US$295 island fee, they will collect it automatically from your account. So if you have the US$ in your SL account, they will take the fee from there first, if not, they will attempt to collect it from whatever payment method you have on file. As for the exact day they take the money, it *typically* starts 30 days after the day they delivered the sim, and continues every month on that day thereafter. Eg. my first island was delivered on March 9th, and the $295 was collected April 8th, and the 8th of every month since then. When that island was delivered I got an email from one of the Concierge Lindens explaining all this... however my 2nd island, delivered in September, did not have an accompanying email or anything else, so it was up to me to figure out when in October I'd get the first Island fee. -Atashi

Thank you, Teejay. Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am the estate owner. No where in my account does it say that I owe tier for the island. All I know is that my original email confirmation said that I would be billed for it on December 12th.

This is one of those little pet peeves I think.. private island ownership doesn't show up anywhere in your account. They really need to add a page for it. Something similar to the land tier section that shows how much tier you have and when you'll pay for it... it would be great to see a listing of the regions you own, how much the monthly fee is (for those with grandfathered regions) and the date they will collect the money.
Don't quite understand why they haven't done it already in fact...

I'm assuming that you mean you _own_ a private estate. If that's the case...
Private Estates don't attract "tier". They attract an "island fee" which is US$295/island/month. (This is distinct from "tier" because it doesn't affect your tier levels on the mainland - for example, you can own a private island, plus 1024 on the mainland, and still pay one island fee plus 1024sqm of tier. If you own a mainland sim plus an extra 1024sqm, then you will be wasting tier because beyond 65536sqm, your tier can only go up in half-sim increments.)
The charge is made automatically in the same way as regular tier. If you have money in your SL US$ account it will be charged to that first.
The charge date is the monthiversary (um, like an anniversary but each month instead of each year.. we really need a proper word for that) of the day you recieved your island (not the day you ordered it).

-Atashi Thanks for all your answers. And yes, Atashi, there needs to be a page for it! What if, for example, they've got the information wrong?

From: Bobbyb30 Zohari They often get things wrong... I'm just picturing them getting me confused with Desmond, and they charge me for a dozen of them at 295 a pop.
