This is not another 'whats the best graphics card for SL" thread. What I am asking rather, is what is the best video card for my situation. Situation: I threw together a second computer with spare parts I had laying around. This computer will be a secondary computer for SL only. Specs: P4 2 ghz, 1 GB ram, and a Geforce 2 MX 400 video card. Now I would like to upgrade the video card to a better one, but I don't want top of the line (I already have that in my main computer), nor am I capable of using top of the line since I only have an AGP slot. I want the best for SL video card that I can get in the $30-$50 range off ebay. Is it even worth it to upgrade from the Geforce 2 in that price range? I have always been an ATI guy, so I need help with what Nvidia card I should get. THANK YOU!!!  |

something in the 7xxx range. 7600 GS is what I went with for my other box, but you could find something costing a bit less than that (or maybe you'll find one with a deal) 7300 will probably come in right at the price range you want to have, though

I just ordered a 7600. Googled it and got it for $57US. (only one they had tho). It looks like a pretty satisfactory card for SL according to the chart.
