I have a question for you SL women (regardless of your FL gender) ... and please don't laugh at me.

My question is: Do your clothes come off?

OK you're laughing at me, and I can accept that. Here comes the red-faced explanation behind my question. I hope you 'll believe me, but if not ... I can accept that, too.

I decided to try a female Avi. I went through the usual account creation process, then hauled her lil' n00bie b00bies off to the freebie stores for a thrilling day of shopping. I nested her in where the rest of the D.S. team lives, and behind closed doors prepared to try on all the fabulous goodies from the day's shopping haul.

Here's where things got difficult. With my male avis I just click 'remove all clothes', an the ol' boy gets seriously naked (an' willyless). That isn't happening with her.

errr ...

... I can't get this biotch out of her britches for nothin'.

Which, I suppose, is yet another way in which SL is a lot like RL.

...

*ahem* ... anyway ...

I've tried removing her clothing at the inventory window, and from the pie-chart menu that pops up on her stubbon lil' hooters when I right-click there. I've tried removing them one-at-a-time and all at once.

At first I thought it was an anti-perv design. I *would* believe that if she'd just drop the drawers after donning a skirt ... but noooooooo. I wind up with her wearing a skirt and some jeans underneath.

When I came onworld it seemed that many SL functions didn't work well at first, then worked more smoothly with repetition. I hope this works that way, too. I'm anxious to build a look for her. Anyone have similar experiences? (in SL, I mean!) This all happened today, so maybe it's just a funciton of the ... errr ... improvements ... we had earlier.

TIA.

Have you tried a different skin?

Sounds like you were just caught in a laggy spot or SL was having issues at the time.

Clothing works the same regardless of the AV's gender

I remember someone saying their skin had panties on it, she couldn't take them off.

I hate it when that happens.

By the way to the OP what is a biotch?

The freebie GNUbie skin did (does?) come with underwear "painted" on.

Colette: tried that. See 3rd from last paragraph. Thanks!

Thanks, everyone. After time away and re-logging she now works as expected. I guess it was the improvements going on at the time.

Susie: ummmm ... it's a sorta-ethnic-kinda street term .. take out the "o" and read it again. This variation is relatively common (especialy for reduced-vulgarity comedic impact) and usually considered more acceptable than the 'real' word.

I read an interesting fact on these forums. When a person uses phonetic, AOL and internet "spelling" mainly what they are doing is to slow down the reader's comphrehension of their post as most people read sentences in groups of words and not the indvidual words. In other words when you use mispellings what you are doing is making it harder for others to read your post.

I am not criticizing your mispelling but just pointing something out. :)

I have noticed that sometimes when it's laggy, I can take off an article of texture clothing and it will still appear on my av for some time. Sometimes flipping into appearance mode briefly will hustle things along.

/me too..

Unless it's the skin itself that has this stuff, a rebake should do the trick. ctrl-alt-r.
