Any recommendations?

Hi All

A friend of mine is looking to either 'buy' or rent a little piece of land. He is looking for a plot with a nice bit of greenery and a nice sunset etc (mainly as he is a sl photographer).

Can anyone recommend a nice plot or sim - not too expensive on the tier though...

Firstly I think the person needs to decide on their budget, you mentioned "not to expensive on the tier though", that is leaving it a bit vague.

Once that person has decided on their budget then size of plot could then be taken into account.

If that person is not premium then that will also have to be taken into account as that will also be an additional cost.

Alternatively, if your friend has only been around a short time then perhaps renting may be the best option short term as they will not have to upgrade their membership, there are lots of rentals available in the search within SL.

Not all sims require upgrading to premium. I do not have a premium account and have 'bought' a 4096sqm plot of land.

I would say that he is looking for a tier of less than USD 20 per month.

very sticky subject re the buying of land and not being premium, however on 20U$ a month your friend could purchase 1024sqm on the mainland only and he/she will own that land, they will be required to have a premium membership and pay Linden Labs for the tiers. Premium membership costs vary as you may know subject to monthly, quarterly or yearly subscriptions.

Alternatively, as previously mentioned there is the option of renting land both on Private Islands, Private Estates and on the mainland.

There are so many plots available I can only recommend if you buy, is to search the map in world and select the Land For Sale Box on the top right of map. Everything in yellow is avaiable to buy. Click on it then Teleport.

The rentals you will need to search in classifieds.

To recommend a piece of land would be very dificult, for not knowing this person and their tastes, dislikes and likes.

Research is the only advice I can give you.

Just to add, if buying land on the mainland, prices also vary considerably subject to location, some land plots can sell from 6-8L$ per sqm, so really at this time, it is a buyers market.
