OK, so I'm giving away a million dollar idea for bot runners...

I was reading a thread in SLU where people were complaining about how clothes are presented in stores, when someone commented to the effect of "well since we have bots and since RLV allows people to change other people's outfits, why not have a bot or a model that can change their outfit when people click on a sign so we can see what an outfit REALLY looks like?"

I always wondered when someone would start looking into the non-bondage related potential for RLV. And its made me wonder, "what else can you do with RLV that's not strictly bondage-ishy?"

That would be a brilliant idea!

Putting together the ripping and imitating functions of viewers mentioned in these forums, it should be possible to implement a "what does *my* avatar look like in that outfit?" feature.

you're a little late to the game... it's been suggested since about the time RLV made scripted clothes changes possible, and before that with LibSL (although that never went anywhere)

I know at least one person with a working model of the system already, but they shelved it until LL's bot nonsense settles.

Demos would be even better than a bot... I want to know what something will look like on *me*, not what it looks like on a bot.

If you go RL clothes shopping you wouldn't be very pleased if they told you that you couldn't try it on but that one of the sales people is going to model it for you; this is no different :).

A - relatively - lot of people seem to be using the "force dressing" feature just for getting dressed regularly (or at least as an add-on to it).

Someone sells an RP chat tool (one of those things where you /6Something something and the script "chats" it while showing the name of your "character"... or something :p) which uses chat and emote redirection to avoid having to use the /6 chat channel prefix.

Forced Windlight settings is used in at least machinima HUD (and one for general photography as well) and used by some people as a personal scripts so that when they tp to certain sims their Windlight settings will change to what they like best for that sim.

Force tp'ing is used as for "landmark organizers" (ie pick and choose your landmark from the script and you're force tp'd there rather than having the world map pop up and clicking "Teleport";). I think those Stargate thingies might use it as well.

Attachment locking is used by people who want a certain attachment to *always* be present and will reattach on its own if they happen to replace it or take it off.

One sneaky forum person wrote a "lucky chair" force sitter which will force-sit someone when their letter comes up to beat the competition.

And a few more :).

---

Ironically though: when I ask people if there's anything "vanilla" they'd like to see in RLV (well, RLVa in my case :)) then they generally can't come up with any suggestions :p...

This is how haute couture works in RL. The difference is that in RL the designer then makes a modified copy of the original that fits the customer properly.
