Has anyone else noticed this behavior in the last couple RC viewers?

A new avatar arrives on the scene, about 10m or so from your point of view. The "ghost cloud" dissipates. But all that's there are their prim attachments...usually hair and shoes.

If you zoom your camera in closer, to about 4 m or so, the rest of the avatar suddenly appears.

Is there a JIRA on this? If so, I want to vote for it.

It's not just an RC issue, happens with the regular viewer as well, and has been happening for a while.

I have had lots of people at the Hangout say that they only see prim attachments on me for quite a while after I arrive - been happening for a while now, so could be related to them using the RC.

ETA: I don't think I have personally noticed this more than once or twice, but I am also using the old 1.18.5.3 viewer with Nicholaz - no clue if that has anything to do with me experience or not.

It seems to be a Windlight issue, since it really arrived with the 1.19.xx client. The thing is it's so very variable to how each person sees it, it's been tough to pin down to one issue in the jira. Some claim ALL avatars invisible with ATI cards... Some claim it happens with AA turned on. Others, like Lindal and I, won't see the avatar until walking up/zooming in. It doesn't seem to be ATI/Nvidia specific, nor has it really been [Solved] in any way, regardless of what some of the jiras say. (=_=)

I have nvidia gforce 8800 and it happens ALOT, or always when I tp into a crowded venue. Sometimes teh sculpties never form either and all I see are blobs on peoples legs, arms neck, head and ... other places..

So not true, I have the crappiest of all ATI cards, now the avatar imposters are a different story. And maybe related. But I have never had that happen on any sort of regular basis. Maybe turn off the imposters, I don't care for them either. They remind me of 80's video game characters.

This has been happening on and off at least since I started 2 years ago, so no, it's not a WL issue...best guess is that it's one of those bugs LL keeps writing back in after they've already 'fixed' it.

Oddly, if someone doesn't rez beyond their prim parts, changing the group you currently have active will often pop them into view.

nVidia 8800, happens quite often, but not consistently. It started to happen 'round about the time I made a massive update of drivers and BIOS, so I sort of wrote it off on that account, since other things messed up as well. (The Vista sound mixer got shot to hell).
I've been flipping a couple of switches in the graphics preferences without any difference, though I haven't yet made a concerted effort to hunt it down.

Sometimes orbiting the camera around the invisible avatar also helps.

I am running the RC, and it is not a glitch I have seen until just recently.
