Interview published today -- World Stock Exchange will reopen, but their ATMs will no longer pay interest. WSE website features an audio clip of LukeConnell explaining the WSE position, and this is a followup story. http://www.metaversejournal.com/2008/01/12/world-stock-exchange-to-continue-business/I find myself agreeing with LukeConnell's argument that the Linden is a "game token", not a currency. But this leads me to a different place than it leads him ... I'll trade for these tokens on SLX just to get the best rate (my last buy was at 285, not bad!), but I certainly don't invest in them. Do you buy it? Will WSE reopen? And, just in case this "discussion" thread bothers people, let me remind folks of Strife's line on this: From: Strife Onizuka My reason for not locking the thread is that is news (I haven't posted recently about the ad hoc exceptions to the RA rules; news about SL is one of the off-topic exceptions).(

Sure if Luke thinks he can manage to get an even bigger pot of
"future collapse" fundage ..
Why not?

I don't doubt that they'll re-open as announced.
I think the biggest challenge the WSE and other exchanges face moving forward is to eliminate IPO scams / failures.
Otherwise they'll probably get banned too in the long run.
