What is going on with SL???

I don't know about the rest of you,, but I've been experiencing more and more instances of crashing and not being able to teleport any where over the last few weeks. Messages stating region logging out over & over when a teleport fails or when I try to log in again!!! I've cleared my cache, updated all drivers and even downloaded a new client. It seems even though SL continually comes out with new versions, the problems seem to be getting worse!!!! I'm normally a patient person but I'm beginning to reach the end of my rope. These continual problems are taking away any enjoyment that SL use to provide,,, at least for me! I'm seriously considering leaving if these,,,, interruptions,, persist.

Is anyone experiencing similar issues?

Is it only weeks?
Well, the hangout got restarted the other day .. and blow me, it got restarted again about a day later.
Yep, teleports, restarts, animations, changing clothes .. all the usual suspects.

For the past week or two I get disconnected 4 times out of 5 when I teleport someplace. Thankfully it's not one of those "your account will be unavailable until X" disconnects, so at least I can get right back in.

Sounds like SL is working just fine in it's typical SNAFU fashion.

Stay tuned I'm sure there is worse yet to come.

Not having those issues using WindLight....maybe once or twice....but no more than normal for me in SL.

Every time I hear these complaints and can't help but wonder how much is SL....and how much is the operating systems and connections everyone is running. There are so many variables with regards to who's using what and connection speeds.... and since I really don't have many problems at all (except when SL has posted something about known crash issues or TP failures) I have a hard time blaming SL for every little glitch. Internet connections always get funky on weeknds when everyone is on their computer.....even out in the boonies where I live, I notice a difference. And of course there's the automatic updates that can pop up and screw up any program you're running. (P-cillin is a pain in my ass with that)
I also stay the heck away from crazy busy, laggy areas....and mainland.... I can't stand going on the mainland because it's never a smooth ride and I have no patience for sitting around waiting for greyed out textures to rez in an area with builds up the wazoo.

Ok I'm rambling.....SL is buggy, we all know it. But here we are....we choose to do it anyway and just bitch when things are rough. lol

Maybe its just me.. but things seems to have gotten much worse with the latest client. My crashed have doubled since I installed it.

Well, I guess that I'm not alone then,,, not that it's a comfort to hear others are also having problems. The only site I access for entertainment on my PC is SL. No other games! Just the usual internet browsing and e-mail access. No new downloads or new programs added. I always keep things as bare bones as possible and drivers & software up to date!

I still can't understand that after all of this time and the numerous updates that we've been through, why we can't,, at least,,, keep a status quo! It really does seem that SL performance is regressing! What a shame! My only reason for continuing to stay (as I'm sure most of you will also agree) are the fantastic friednships I've made here! But what kind of quality time can be spent with your friends when you're continually being badgered by crashes, TP failures and login problems!

hey i was lucky to crash three times a day, now i am crashing as soon as i log in!!!! i tried everything.

Same here, disconnect on TP frequently, crash on loggin is not a rare thing for me either, lag is up, friendlist commonly borked, process credits taking 8 days, support tickets going unanswerd, etc etc. Although I have heard they apparently have time to manually identity verify people on faxed in documents in about 2 hours, and have time to create surveys asking us what they already know we think about voice. Good to know the important things are being taken care of, eh?

Hmm, I don't crash so much. Only started to bend over and looking through my legs again since today...

It is in the best interests of LL, to ensure that the basic functions of SL work. TPs, rezzing, building, transactions going through on time, walking without kneeing into the soil.

To introduce new features is great and should be backed - but please get the basic functions stabilised, or I'm off too. VAT nearly drove me away, don't let the basics do it this time.

If you have vista and you run a radeon graphics card, go to your catalyst control center.

ok for those who keep krashing after log in, if you have radeon product , go into your catalyst control hit the advanced button and look under 3D under more settings and click the two buttons under open gl, activate those and log in SL.

thus far, no crashes

In some cases, the newer viewers are less reliable than older ones.

What can you do to avoid all these? NOTHING. Just buy a bit of patience and try again once and another
