http://forums.secondlife.com/announcement.php?f=142Since BBC code has been officially turned off for 3 months, "in preparation of an upgrade", I wonder when this upgrade will every occur? Of course, there are work-arounds, but only for those technical enough to use the Search Function and know about GreaseMonkey. The others? Even JIRA has no recent address of this issue! When is the upgrade going to occur, LL? FirstLook viewers have been implemented in less time [disclaimer: that is not fact, just statement without research!].

They sure turned it off in a weird way!
The BB Code is still there...just doesn't work.
I'd like them to REALLY turn it off so that when I paste a URL it isn't bracketed by extraneous BB Code! lol

I've been using Strife's GreaseMonkey script, so I barely notice. Which is not to say that LL shouldn't fix it, and soon...

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

The reason I complain, I participate in 3 other forums that use VBulletin, not related to SL at all, and they have not turned off BB code. And, they run newer versions than what is on SL Forums! You may thing, maybe there is internal bug or vulnerability? But no, even that I cannot find, in bugtraq.com never post such a compromise against this system. What is the excuse? At the minimum, we deserve an update!

Seem bizarre that image urls work just not link and text formatting. I would think image urls were more complex than the others.

Lindens don't announce when they fix big security bugs. About 3 or 4 weeks ago, they fixed one of the biggest security holes in SL that needed to be addressed for months, but they didn't announce it because it would point out how vulnerable the system had been previously.

From: Brash Zenovka Seem bizarre that image urls work just not link and text formatting. I would think image urls were more complex than the others. I guess I could see them disabling url parsing if, for example, there was cases of people being phished via misleading ones. Weird thing is that I do sometimes see posts with urls being hyperlinked. No idea how to get the forums to do that, tho. The one I really miss is php..
