I've had my normal problems with SL such as the lag and the enevitable crashes but things seemed to get worse the day before Thanksgiving. Seems it does not matter where I am at...I'm fine as long as I stand still but as soon as I go to move my camera or my avie...I freeze and crash. I have uninstalled and re-installed SL but it's still the same. I have all my graphics set like they have always been. I make sure I do the network and web cache thing so that my cache clears before I log back on. Suggestions?

I had similar problems when I tried to walk and edit at the same time or edit a large linked object... I changed my grapics card, no joy.. tried every viewer known, no joy. Out of desperation I replaced my router/modem and voila! Maybe you could borrow a modem/router to see if that fixes the problem before buying one? Good luck, I know how frustrating it is.

Actually I downloaded Rainbow Viewer and I've have no problems (knock on wood). It's just strange how this started happening so suddenly. Thanks for the help though ☺

was this happening everywhere you went or mostly at your home??
also were there any recent changes to your system around the time this started to happen..
they could be memory crashes..
check to see how many processes are running..

this happened no matter where I went. I made no changes to my system until after this started. although I have AVG and Malware...I was told to download AdWare to catch viruses too...seems my system is worse since I downloaded AdWare. I have since uninstalled AdWare...done a disk defrag...taken out all I know to take out...cleared cache...the whole nine yards. although I have Rainbow Viewer and can stay on without crashing...it's really laggy and just aggrivating. HELP!!

For me it was my router. I was crashing all the time -- sometimes after an hour, sometimes every few minutes, sometimes at random, usually when camming around a lot, whenever, but I just couldn't stay connected. It was so common my friends didn't even say anything when I disappeared, they just waited for me to come back. I tried everything related to software fixes and nothing worked. Finally I bought a new router and bingo, haven't crashed since. I'm absolutely solid now.

Hardware goes bad and suddenly things that worked before don't work any more. If you can swap out a router from a friend or something, you could test to see if that's the problem. It sure was mine.
