BG Images?

When I log in on Emerald I am asked whether or not I wish to turn on BG Images. What are BG Images and should I turn them on or off?

They are just the images that fill the window each time you open Enerald up - just like an image fills the window in the normal viewer, but Emerald's are their own images and include a link to visit the places.

I turned them off. The only difference being that they don't download for me now, so the window's background is black.

You're missing a bet if you turn them off. I've visited a number of places I've seen on the login screen. It's an easy time to say, "hey, it looks neat, I'll check it out", before IMs and other things demand your attention.

Nah, I like the backgrounds on the login screen. It's kind of neat seeing the work of others, even if I don't go visiting them.
