Creating objects where it is banned

Hi,

I have a 4086 parcel and I have unchecked the following Options in About Land (both the All Residents and the Groups have been unchecked).

Create Objects,
Object Entry.

However, I still occasionally see objects that someone has rezzed, created or entered onto my parcel somehow, and I then have to return them.

My questions are:

1. How are folk able to place any object on my land with the above two options checked?

2. Is Rezzing objects the same as creating objects for the purpose of disallowing Create Objects?

They wear it and drop it. Or sit on it and bring it in that way. My recommendation is to also turn on the auto-return if you are the only one that owns the land.

Thanks for the quick reply Raudf, but I don't think they are doing it that way either. My Public Access is off, and I only have some close friends on the Allowed list (none of whom own any of the objects that appear from time to time).

I didn't want to turn on the autoreturn, as a couple of friends are currently staying with me, and they have rezzed a few objects of their own.

This is quite a puzzler.

If they rode a prim onto your land would they get bounced off but the prim remain?

They could still drop it of course, since the default Access restriction only stops people under the height of 50 meters from getting in.

Are the objects on the ground or up in the air?

I thought if build was turned off that you couldn't drop objects either?

Yeah, if build is turned off you can't create new prims or drop worn prims, but you can slide it in from an adjacent parcel if entry was turned on. But entry is turned off, so my best guess is put your car out on parcel X and drive it into parcel Y then stand up.

I'm going to guess this is a bug of some sort because I have 3/4096 parcels and I don't allow build/rez. Occassionally I'll turn it on for a friend, but I'll set auto-return. With friends it's usually them wanting to rez a box to open or show me some new gadget, and that's fine. But to keep out griefers and clutter, I don't allow objects to stay on my land.

I have never had a problem with finding unwanted stuff......and noone can sneak anything in via the ways suggested here. You can't 'drop' a worn object (it will be greyed out) and you can't move something from one area over to my land....it will disappear and get returned.

What puzzles me is you say a few friends have rezzed objects? So....if you have build and object entry turned off....and no group set, how have your friends objects managed to stick around? Something is either amiss in the settings...or it's a bug. No build is no build....there isn't any way around it if everything is working properly. Otherwise...all you have to do is go into your land and simply auto-return those objects of people you don't know.

It's one of those issues that you can't really have both ways....if you don't want to allow build to everyone, but you want friends to be able to place things...then you really have to either set it to group and add them to the group.....or set parcel ban and add friends to the access list. It's kind of a pain in the butt, but it's all we can do.
