Problem saving color in edit mode?

Yeah yeah I have been here since 2005, but this has never happened before. I hope I can explain this clearly...

Say I want to change the the cushion colors I made from purple to green. I go into edit mode, click on the texture tab and click on the color. I used to be able to pick the color I wanted and then drag it below to save it. For the past few weeks I am unable to drag the color. When I try, the whole edit box moves instead.

I know I must have clicked something accidently, but I can't figure out what. Any ideas?

Thanks :)

Known bug in the current Release Candidate. A patch to fix it has already been found and submitted by someone, via the JIRA system.

I've noticed that the whole color box itself is funky lately. For me it's the shade slider. Over half the time I try to adjust the shade using the little vertical arrow thing, I end up moving the entire box. I just keep retrying; I've found that if I click back into the general edit box, then return to the color box, it accepts my mouse clicks...

Simple work-around for now: Rez one or more cube prims, and color one face with the color(s) you want to save. You can then recover that exact shade later by rezzing the prim(s)in-world and using the eyedropper tool.

Credit Chosen Few with that trick. He suggested it in either the Building or Texture forums recently when the same problem was mentioned there.

I use something similar in all my builds of any real size. Once I know the textures and colours I'm going to be using for the build I make a pallet cube (Or cubes) to be able to find it really easily all the time.

Also, if I'm going to be making something like a forest with a limited amount of tree types and colours, I set up the types I'm going to use off to the side, then shift-copy them sporadically until I've got a pretty good base, then copy random ones from in that array some more until I've got a pretty well defined, pretty random array that suits my needs well.
