are they on the rise again . anyone else notice increased lag , crashes , problems teleporting too name a few....what happened to sl's commitment to better performance and stability . i could care less about windlight when half the time everything is grey . i have decent hardware and have gotten decent performance at times from sl . but lately it seems to be on the downslide again .

Things that might help

Apparently the asset servers are inadequate again, since they are planning an upgrade:

We are expanding the asset cluster and are planning down time from 6am to noon PST on Wednesday, January 9th.

In the mean time, one thing that helps me a lot is running draw distance as low as possible unless I have a reason to look further. The order images get downloaded when you arrive at a new place seems to be random. If you are inside a building there is no point in loading all the stuff outside if you cant see it.

You can set draw distance below 64m by

(1) opening the client menu - CTRL+ALT+ letter D
(2) open the debug settings under client menu
(3) type "renderfarclip" as the setting name, and enter a number

I run normally at 32m and new places load pretty fast, even though I dont have the fastest internet in the world.

I've been having issues all day with uploading textures. If I try to do a bulk upload it will give me the "unexpected issues" error after the first one then I have to log off, log back on and upload one at a time. Also getting the crash after teleporting, frozen upon re-log and having to re-log again. Between upload and teleport issues I think I've relogged over 40 times today.

I'm having trouble getting logged in.. thought it was my connection at first, but I can get into CoH just fine. Guess what I'm doing tonight.
