Isn't it great? A mate tells you about this fab new 'not exactly a game' thingy called secondlife. It's free to start with, in case you don't enjoy it. You can fly, teleport, go skydiving, shopping, surfing, chat to people all over the world. Build a house, a shop, a spaceship even. Design and create all kinds of things. If you really like it you can buy some land and build a dream home. Furnish it with exquisite antiques, futuristic pespex, beanbags, or just regular stuff. Tame a dragon, win a war, ride Pegasus. Buy shoes you could never walk in, to go with the jeans and bikinis that would get you arrested in down town real life! OMG how good can things get? Wow, look at the babes in this place! All the men are hunks, all of them! Just the teeniest snag. By the time you're really enjoying it all, and have spent a bunch of, oh yeah, real dollars, you can't go play anymore.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Would Third Life be a virtual world written in LSL that is accessed from within Second Life?

From: Johan Durant Would Third Life be a virtual world written in LSL that is accessed from within Second Life? I actually talked about this with someone. Would you continue playing 'Life within 'Life in world until eventually you play Infinity Life? Or would you eventually find yourself somehow playing First Life while Rod Serling laments your fate?
