Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I take high-res snapshots to disk with graphics settings at full capacity and post on my blog. From my home computer the photos look great--crisp and clear. But from my work monitor the photos on my blog look terrible. But other photos on other blogs look great on that same work monitor. HELP, this is driving me crazy. I'm afraid most people are seeing my pictures as terribly pixelated.

Thank you!

What size are your images to start with?

Is this the blog url: http://somestrangeness.blogspot.com/ ?

What resolution are your home monitor and your work computer?

Is your work computer's display set to its native resolution?

There is no reason to use hi-res snapshot to disc for a blog.

First of all, it produces images far too big for any blog. If you must have that size image for some kind of archival or printing purpose, resize them to something smaller before uploading them to your blog.

Second, the hi-res snapshot to disc function is broken in the 1.23 viewer. If you're using the current Linden viewer, do not use hi-res snapshot to disc.

The pictures on the url I put in my post show as 1600 x 1035 scaled to 600 x 359, or other similar values, on my machine, for what that's worth to know.

Thanks guys. I think I'll try downsizing the photos before posting to my blog and see if that helps.

Cheers.

Although Advanced > High-res Snapshot no longer works,

File > Take Snapshot > More >> has some nice hi res and file type options.

Were you comparing how they look at home, on the blog, to how they look at work, on the blog, or how they look at home, before uploading, to how the they look at work, on the blog?

Suezanne,
I was comparing how they look at home, on the blog, to how they look at work, on the blog.

If that's the case then the should basically look the same except for things that would be different at home and work, such as:

The work monitor is set to a resolution other than it's native resolution and the pixels are being stretched to fit, resulting in pixellation.

Different browsers at home and work. Same browser but with some setting pertaining to image display set differently, such as a setting for making oversized images fit in a page.
