I just installed Emerald Viewer and the music or voice do not work.

I downloaded the Voice Patch for Mac (Intel) off of the Emerald Viewer website, and for some reason the patch will not install. These are the steps I have taken:

1) Downloaded VoicePatchEmerald.dmg

2) Opened VoicePatchEmerald.dmg

3) Opened VoicePatch

4) Clicked on File > Open (on the top menu next to PatchSL)

5) Clicked "Open"

Then after this, my dumb ass computer says "I could not find Emerald Viewer"...even though it is obviously installed in my Applications folder.

I tried manually searching for it after step 5, but Emerald Viewer is greyed out like a bitch and won't allow me to open it.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

This might sound obvious, but are you 100%, absolutely sure that you've downloaded the correct version of the viewer? Have you tried running the viewer without the voice patch?

Yes, I downloaded the viewer from this website:

http://modularsystems.sl/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=8

Downloaded both the viewer and the patch from the Mac downloads section.

I used Emerald Viewer without the patch, and that's when I noticed I didn't have voice or sound. I've never used Emerald Viewer with the Voice Patch because I can't get the patch to open and install...

I had the same problem when I downloaded the latest viewer. I uninstalled Emerald completely and even deleted the .dmg files. Then I downloaded the viewer and patch again; ran the Voice Patch, and it worked without a hitch.

Hope this helps.

Bleh, now I feel stupid. I finally got the Voice Patch to open...but then the "Emerald Viewer has been patched!" message never popped up.

After I was messing around with it for about a few hours, I realized that when I tried to open the Voice Patch and the mac menu popped up, I was typing in the search box for applications instead of manually going through my Macintosh HD file, straight to the Applications folder, which did the trick!

Thanks everyone!

Joshoowah

The only other thing I can suggest is trying the Emerald Forum: http://modularsystems.sl/index.php?option=com_agora&Itemid=

YAY!

The Emerald forum is worth checking out, though.

Lol, I posted a threat in there too under the "Help Me!" section of the forums. Only 2 views and no responses :| I usually end up figuring these things out on my own anyway, I guess I was just REALLY impatient haha. Thanks!!

I wish I had that problem.

My problem is that Emerald keeps re-enabling voice after I've disabled it. I don't use voice, I don't want to have that dot showing over my head and people talking to me when I can't hear them. Guess I need to go and remove the slvoice executable again (I can't "not install" the voice patch because it installs a bunch of other files unrelated to voice that Emerald actually requires on my computer).

I have the same problem as Argent. Voice keeps re-enabling itself under Emerald, like a talking zombie.

I had that voice problem with SL's viewer. Switching to Emerald fixed it and now it never happens.

Go figure!

It's always sumpin'!
