Shape Ruth'ed permanently... and eyes broken too

Hi, I often read that avatars is Ruth'ed (reverted to the first avatar shape called Ruth). That usualy goes away by rebaking, going into appearance mode, teleporting to another region, clearing cache, relogging....

I have experienced that my shape worn was permanently Ruth'ed and stayed this way, even after I did all the abowe many times during 2 days. Since I'm a female avatar that didn't bother me much, but I sure would not stay like that, since the Ruth shape has so different face (especially eyes) then the shape I use as Marianne. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27764102@N02/2629905981/in/photostream/

I was just into SL the first day I was Ruth'ed to chat a bit and shop, so I did that as "Ruth" and logged off, confident that I would log in as my own shape the next day.

But when I logged in day two as Ruth and it still wasn't gone, I was tired of that. I had 2 versions of my shape, so I copied the skirt shape and just adjusted up the butt and hips until it looked good. I let the ruined shape stay in my inventory a few more days, and then worn it to see if it was fixed. But it was still Ruth... it had been permanently changed to Ruth! So I deleted it.

As if the shape wasn't enough, my pretty eyes was a flat darkbrown color with no shine at all! They also stayed like that during appearance mode and rebaking. And good for me, I had a copy of them too.

So if shapes can be permanently reverted to Ruth, I would recommend all to have a copy of the shape you like just in case.... it is most important for male avatars who probably don't like to go around with a female shape and a male skin over it.

Do you think my shape would have fixed itself, if I had waited longer? Or could I have done more than I did?

Did you try the character test? It reverts you to the starting av, but then you can usually apply your own shape/skin/etc afterward.

Client > Character > Characters Tests > Test Female

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Thanks Ann, that was the only thing I didn't do. But it would not give me back my "own" shape, the one with the face and body I like to use? Only a default female shape.

That my shape was reverted to Ruth and stayed like it during many days (as I said, I kept it in my inventory after I copied my skirt shape) would mean that I couldn't have it back.

I had a copy of it as skirt shape, so it saved me from starting over, trying to adjust back my face from a default shape.

Or do you mean that Client > Character > Characters Tests > Test Female, and then wearing the Ruth'ed shape could have fixed it so it wasn't Ruth'ed anymore?

I wish I hadn't deleted it so I could try.

Not sure...I know that it tends to fix the issue for people who are stuck as Ruth, but since you were able to change to another shape, it might not have helped you.
