Putting "share 3d models" into Google produces results such as this one, the first one, http://www.sharecg.com/index.php , which appears to have 3D models available for download.

Second Life items aren't made from 'models'. They are constructed from Primitives. Boxes, Cylinders, Tori, etc. There is a limited support for 'models' via Sculptie map upload, but the models have to fit certain constraints.
