So I was doing a little windsurfing around Linden Village, on my windsurfer (which seems to work just fine with Havok4, by the way). I made a complete circuit, and was getting ready to make another when I came upon a curious condition. It seems that on my way around (going clockwise, mind you), I tried to enter the southwest corner of Waterhead sim. That was a mistake; the high traffic froze my board. I had to stand up and delete my stuck windsurfer. Since I didn't want to go all the way home to rez another (my house is like 2 sims away), I remembered that building is enabled at Torley Linden's land. So, I flew there, or close by there anyway, and rezzed a new windsurfer in the water. I boarded it, and began to move forward, immediately crossing north into a new sim. Oddly, I lost control of my board and could only watch helplessly as it jetted forward in a straight line, going through intervening land and buildings as it went. OK, typical sim-crossing problem, right? That's what I thought. Except that my board kept accelerating. And accelerating. And accelerating. It flew clear out the other end of the sim and into the next, and into the next, and so on - ever northward - accelerating continuously. I passed Help Island Public and shot straight on into the void (it's all water!). At some point my board picked up so much speed that my avatar fell off; my camera, however, was fixed to the board, and it just kept GOING. Interestingly, the land info's title said I was still in Grasmere sim; but the coordinates were something like 154, 1126, 2 - which doesn't make any sense. But there it is. I was just about to hit screencap when suddenly I reappeared, just my av, back at Torley's place. My windsurfer is probably somewhere in the void, still accelerating, lost forever in the Bermuda fecking Triangle. So, I start to move. Mistake - as I move northward into the next sim, and start freeze-flying again. I don't go nearly as far this time before I snap back to Torley's place. And I find out that I cannot turn, or fly up or down or backwards, but can only move forward - into the next sim, and into autopilot once more. This time, I took a screencap: So eventually I got bored of flying inside a sim, yet beyond it somehow (don't ask, I don't know either), so I TP'd home, and was all fixed. But man, that was just weird. And all Torley's fault, obviously.

I have moved (not lagged not sim crossing auto pilot but actually walked, into the negative space (the location was a negative number on the second set of numbers.)
I did not crash everything was normal
I walked out.. walked back and continued on my way (it was a private sim, with no other sim around it)
I often wonder if there was a sim being prepared for sale, and I happened to "step" into it (but my location showed the sim I was on, just in a negative number on the y cords)

The viewer will show you as moving at your last known velocity (not sure if it cares about the acceleration vector though) until it receives a new update from a sim.
If the difference between the viewer interpolation and your actual location is off, you get the snap back. The more time passes between two updates while you're not stationary, the bigger the disconnect will be.
In reality you never moved passed the point you snapped back to and what you saw as moving was just a client side illusion.

I have had that happen lots, just walking around normally, lag but the walking around off the sim and back, I had no lag, no issues no snapping back. was weird

From: Kitty Barnett I couldn't think of a better way to put it . What's funny is that I probably would've said the same thing myself if I had arrived in the thread earlier. And then it would be you doing the smiling Reality is a funny thing!

I have done that before. Just kept going and going and going picking up speed along the way.
Generally when it happens I do like you did.. tp home. That takes care of it. hehe
