Sim Purchase Question

Have a friend who purchased (helped purchase) three reduced prim sims, think they may also be called open space sims, the delivery date has been pushed off by over a week. She can't use the concierge service to inquire, not a premium member, so she can't submit a support ticket either. Any thoughts on where she can go to find out why the delay?

You can only buy 'openspace' sims if you already own an existing regular sim - so my guess is that the financial contribution went towards a third party to help them buy them on your behalf.

They should, therefore, have concierge service and be able to enquire - after all, presumably, they placed an order.

I have a friend who ordered one and it was promised last Friday after weeks of delay, it never arrived. On Monday he was promised it tomorrow (Wednesday) and it arrived this morning (Tuesday).

There seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to how and when LL deliver land.

If someone has any land on order at the moment the best advice would be to cancel the order and wait for the next blog entry about the devalued land costs. I had an open space island on order for over 2 weeks and have not received it yet and when i saw the entry on the blog about lower priced I could not cancel my support ticket request for an open space island fast enough. This new pricing is not in effect as yet and the current open space sim price of 415 is a little less than half of a full prim island at the new rate of 1000. The lindens in their infinate wisdom have lowered the price but kept the tier the same. i.e. 295 for full prim and 75 for water sim (open space)

I contacted concierge support to see if they would tell me what the new price would be for an open space sim but they would not. It stands to reason that the open space sim price will be lowered to 250 instead of the current 415. I would imagine as soon as the new priceing is in effect there will be a mad rush of buyers and the delays will be terrible.

I feel the pain of those that have reciently purchased and received islands in that they have paid too much. Not a smart move on the lindens part to the most profitable segment of the metaverse. I am a bit upset that they wiped the value of 40% from the bottom line of the islands i have purchased in the past. But I can see that it might raise their long term revenue in tier payments. They can forgo the short term and still be very rich.

So...im going to hide and wait for a bit to see how this all pans out in the coming weeks and the best advice for everyone else would be to do the same.

it just takes forever and delays happen cause lindens are in no hurry..we waited like 3 weeks for ours lol after the due date

It takes 10-11 days to deliver an Openspace sim, which translates to around 15 real days. And this is assuming you didn't make any mistakes when filling out the order form.

mine took 14 days from order to delivery.
