I'm a little confused about the legal status of Sploders! I thought they were illegal, yet shops are openly selling them and clubs actively using them. So what is the legality of them?

From: Oryx Tempel Not legal. Ever. They are if the people there do not pay in. There are setting for this. The host can put in L$ to be paid out to anyone in the area who clicks the Sploder. ~Jessy

~Jessy Oh, right. I meant the kind that people pay. Sorry.

I've noticed now though that they are called "legal sploders" or poppers. Most of them, you pay in and you either get back what you paid or a bit more. I believe the owner always has to put $L in.
However, I've run into a few clubs still using the old sploders. Those you pay $10L and only get back $2L

I personally loved sploders. Totally addicting and I lost money, yeah, but I would play the sploder and watch people chat at parties. It was something to do other than just stand there.

I believe many ppl loved sploders. Looks better than a sim dedicated to having casino games, lag, and camping zombies.

I honestly don't think Linden Lab cares anymore. I am seeing traditional sploders pop up again in the past months. Basically if it is not a simulation of traditional real life gambling like black jack, craps, roulette and traditional slot machines Linden Lab does not care. I suppose if the place got AR'ed to death a Linden might show up but given that most of them do not even have a clue how to apply the anti-wagering policy it's as likely as not that they wont do anything anyway and that cluelessness seems to go right up the food chain to the top.
