A few questions

I have been on SL for oh 7 months i think but joined the forums in September and this is my 2nd post cause i get a lot of in game help from friends but some stuff i need help with still so hopefully someone can help me out.

first I noticed when i am in typing mode my avatar with sometimes walk forward a step or two. is this a glitch or something? i use the W,A,S,D keys for my movement btw


Next up is the cache and bandwidth settings. I have 2 gigs of ram and a video card with 512 ram, I am running in windowed mode. what is the best settings for me as far as cache size and bandwidth size?

Third: Is there a way to embed video into SL for friends to see, if so what is th best way to do it?

4th: When taking snapshots can you make them into jpg instead of bmp when you save them to the hard drive so i can skip the step of using a converter and scaling images down fro reason?

5th: I want to take a small SL avi video but one of two things happen, either i do the keyboard shortcut and have to select how i want to use the format method and even then is shows stuff like me stopping the video.. and of course if i use the menu way it show my mouse cursor moving up to stop it. so any help on that? like i would love to have it set to record a video at this one format that is the right speed and doesn't each up hard drive space.

6th: Does anyone know a place that has men's costumes/outfits of a sexy nature to them like silks and stuff. i've been to a lot of place and not much men's silk, like a loin cloth or boxers or a thong etc.

Finally are any recommended settings i should use or not use?

1. I believe there's a walking/talking setting - you probably need to set it to "no.", <--On second thought, this can't be helpful. Or maybe your cursor is just in the wrong box when you start typing. Dunno. Hitting "enter" first perhaps would fix it.

Hmmm . . . As for moving forward when typing / chatting, I notice sometimes my Av jumps into the air and does a flip when I try to chat. I haven't activated the chat function so there is no field to key into and the viewer thinks I'm trying to move using the W, A , S, D keys or whatever. Presumably "E" is for jumping and it's the most common letter in English.

It seems like in the older versions the chat field was always open, but now we have to click chat to activate it. Could this be what's happening to you?

look in Edit/Preferences/Text Chat. Make sure "Close Chat after hitting return" is checked.
Now, hit ENTER to open the chat field, type your text, and hit ENTER again to send it and close the chat field.

The chat field can't always be open, or your keys can't be used for movement.

However, if you like an always-open field, select View/Chat History, and tear off the Near Me window from the main communicate window. This will give you an always-open place to enter text. Just remember to hit ESC when you're done, to return the keyboard focus to the movement controls.

Well the snapshot issue is no big thing, i have a batch conversion image program and i also have a batch scale one but i need to get that to work still.

As far as the steaming video I have an anime music video on youtube and that why i wondered.

for the SL video recording i am not sure what you mean, i want to take a short video of my avatar dancing but it always wants me to choose a method of conversion so i choose i think the 32 bit compression using Ctrl+Shift+a to start and stop tis just that is there a way to set the compression method to one set one without having to select it each time?

Finally the Avatar movement question is like this I will have the main chat dialog box open and i am typing while standing and suddenly my avatar jerks forward like i hit the W key if i were not in chat mode one so i have no idea why its doing that.

Btw any idea about the bandwidth and cache question. Its under Preferences->Network. I currently have my cache set to 600mb and bandwidth max at 600 as well. that safe?
