SL Railroads

I've come across two Railroads in SL, so far. Very nice, I flew along the tracks from beginning to end. One of them had a train that had a "waiting" title on it, I could not figure out how to get it to move.

Are the railroads 'working' untis, where we can take a ride? Or are they there to preserve a sight-seeing path through certain sims?

I'd love to take a train trip, if anyone could show me how.

Yes, the trains work and you most certainly can ride them. They stop at every station along the line. Now if only there was a timetable so you'd know when the trains were going to pull up...

They'd run late ... just like RL

Do all the tracks have trains, yet? Of the two I flew the whole length of - I did not see a train on the second one. Maybe the trains rez only when they are going to run, to keep the load on the sim down?

And yes - who would I contact about a "schedule" of sorts? Do you think this warants posting a question in Linden Answers?

I thought every in second life was player created.
I am curious to see the trains where are they?

95% of SL is user created, however, there is Linden created content in world. The great will, the prim rig in ANWR, the roads, and railroads are all Linden made There are a few other things out there that are also created by the Lindens.
