singing duets online

Let's say I want to sing a duet over a music stream with someone who is 1000 miles away.

I've been rolling this over in my head for awhile. I understand the problem that latency causes, ending up with the couple being out of sync. Especially if I were playing a guitar and my partner was trying to sing along with it.

Is anyone aware of any technology or research going on to make this possible? Maybe some sort of software that does some voodoo?

You might try getting ahold of Maximillion Kleene. He sings duets all the time and they are in sync.
